Ali has made her mark on the TV screen as well. She was a part of several TV shows, including A Man Called Hawk, Wally and the Valentines, The Cosby Show, Getting By and Are You Afraid of the Dark?, Kidz In the Wood, Living Single, In the House, and numerous others. Ali's biggest breakthrough was when she brought Ashley Banks to life on the cult TV show The Fresh Prince of Bel Air in 1990. The show was a collaboration with the actor Will Smith, the series was a huge success. It was one of the top shows on NBC, ranking 12th among all programs between 1990 and 1992. It was also nominated for two Golden Globe Awards.
