Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has been a chef, television presenter in the US as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef as well as co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond locks and a lively persona, shows how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious eateries located in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. As a child in Upstate New York Chef Burrell was infatuated by food. After obtaining an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the restaurant business by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was where I had the most enjoyable time of my life. Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. When I graduated at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners Chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. The time she spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impact on her own culinary perspective. Burrell participates on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens up the lives of struggling children. Additionally, she is a Juvenile diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate where she has a mission to raise awareness for the condition of children with diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher, she travels around the US to talk about her love for cooking and career. Anne says she was incredibly fortunate to be able to share her true passion with other people.
